Katherine turns 6 - Palace Pets Party

Well after all the fun at Chloe's Paw Patrol party in September, Katie insisted she wanted exactly the same party!! I eventually managed to persuade her to change themes but that was about it!

So, here is the resultant clone of Chloe's party, only with Palace Pets instead of Paw Patrol pups!

The poster once again came from Rasterbater- this one was huge! The 3 of us painted it in one afternoon though, and it came out really nicely. If you make one with kids, don't forget to go over the outlines in black thick pens after to neated it all up!

The tables were the same as Chloe's, except with different colours & laminated Palace Pet centre pieces submerged in pots of play dough

The cake was great fun to make, the turrets were just stacks of biscuits. covered in fondant (the resultant texture looked just like bricks!).
The turret tops were inverted sugar cones, and i pasted fondant tiles over these too and painted them gold (Heres how you do the tiles- http://www.boorooandtiggertoo.com/2015/01/make-magical-fairy-tale-castle-turrets-with-fondant-icing/).
The rest was pretty straight forward ... thank Heavens Katie had the toy figurines already, it would have taken a lot longer to make those myself!

These masks were just printed directly from the Palace Pet online images, some of them were a bit off centre because it seems these pets only pose at an angle in every pic of them! It didnt phase the kids though - they loved the masks!
I also laminated and decorated each one with sticky glitter paper, to sparkle it all up.

And that was that, another fun theme despite not having any merchandise available locally!

Chloe's Paw Patrol Pawty

Chloe's Paw Patrol Pawty

Since her 4th birthday has been in sight, Chloe has almost constantly been in character of Skye from Paw Patrol, so of course that was her chosen party theme. Well this was a little tricky as there is absolutely no merchandise for anything Paw Patrol in South Africa so we set about doing it ourselves and sure are glad for that!

The party was held at a ski slope, where they all went bum boarding - this was a great hit for the 4 year olds

As I always do for parties, the posters were colouring in pages that were just blown up using a great website called Rasterbator.net (previously i used BlockPoster but they now charge).
The kids painted the posters and went over them in thick black pens (to cover the out-of-lines bits, and they came out beautifully)

Centre Pieces were just prints of the dogs, laminated, cut-out, attached to kebab sticks and submerged in pots of play dough as an anchor!

The cake was very simple actually - besides the Skye topper! I made lots of butterflies and flowers to cover up my fondant wrinkles :)

The make-your-own bonewiches were a hit!

As was the dog food!

The kids loved the masks, and they kept them on for the whole party! I am including the jpgs in case you want to do the same

There are so many fun paw patrol pics out there, i made these Kit kat wrappers using Royal pups pics, which Chloe loved!

And that was that, the Paw Patrol Pawty was great fun!
