A Very Hoppy Easter Weekend ...

As usual, our house turned into a bunny park in the run up to Easter this year.

Firstly, the girls and I had some fun painting, decorating and sparkling-up some polystyrene eggs which we used to make a large Easter twig tree, Katherine also wanted added the little felt bunnies!

We planted some daffodils in an egg shell a few weeks back and they blossomed right on time for us

Then, somebunny went wild with our mantle piece ...(with art work by Katie)

Not to forget the Bunny Carrot cake

Easter Morning was filled with some super bouncy bunnies ...

As the Easter bunny had left a trail with some sneaky clues along the way

The Happy Chappies tuck into their loot ...

Later in the afternoon, the kids got ready for another egg hunt...

This one was a serious competition, no time to dawdle and smell the roses!!

To end of the day, Luke has some fun with the littles ones out in the bouncy castle ... #iKnowaGoodDadWhenISeeOne!!

Rainbow Pancakes

Little Katherine is into rainbows at the moment ... she walks around the house singing "Rainbow, rainbow, its a rainy sunny day"
So much to her glee, with the snow blizzard leaving us housebound this morning, we decided to make some rainbow pancakes.

This is how they turned out ...
A rainbow pancake with banana clouds

Heres how we did it :)

First we made the batter, and divided it into 6 plates. We only used the 3 primary colours for food colouring so that the girls could have fun experimenting on making green, orange and purple

Then i heated the stove, but added layers of each colour off the hot plate, so that the pancake cooked evenly. I added the layers following the shape of the pan from out to in (there might be a better way of doing this, as my first few didnt really work!!)
Another thing i learnt, once on the stove, its important not to let the batter over cook else it turns brown.

Lastly, the girls chopped up some bananas to make clouds, and we served them with maple syrup... mmmm they were actually delicious!

Happy little Cheflets

Now theres a way to spice up a snowy spring day!

Easter Egg Maracas

This is a great, easy, mess-free Easter craft that the kids will love!

Firstly you will need

  • Plastic Easter egg shells (Poundland sell them for 8 a quid)
  • Plastic spoons
  • Rice/lentils/beans or any other noisy filler
  • Scissors
  • Sellotape
  • Coloured paper

Pictures speak a thousand words so here goes .....

Cut the paper into strips

Fill the egg with rice, and sellotape to 2 spoons

Place the paper face down on the tape (you can make spots, or any patterns)

Cover the maraca with the patterned tape and shake, shake, shake!!

Legoland

Ignoring the exorbitant entrance fee, Legoland Windsor is in my opinion is the best theme park in England. We are hold annual passes and have been back on numerous occasions, but still have so much to see and do there. With over 25 million lego pieces used to build it across 150 hectares, any Lego fan will appreciate the detail gone into the creation of the entire park. The rides are geared at younger kids, but fun for all ... they could each be a bit longer though given the queuing time!

You do need to try and go on a off peak day .. crowds can get ridiculous in the summer months.

Here are some pics ...

These happy chappys are real excited!

An enormous animated Lego dinosaur that breathes steam through its mouth!

The Atlantis submarine ride is awesome :)

The detail thats gone into Miniland is extraordinary!

The girls loved going in this lego train above the park ...

The water park rides are great fun in the summer

Now thats cool!

There is a water play park for kids in summer, remember costumes!
